Brief.
The owner of Pastarita—an authentic Italian restaurant—wanted to transform an existing space in Westfield Newmarket into a cosy haven that reflected her brand roots. The design needed to showcase Pastarita’s unique identity while ensuring efficiency in a high-traffic environment.
With a modest budget and a tight 16-week timeline, Hellospace was tasked with creating an inviting, family-friendly dining experience that adhered to the mall’s aesthetic standards and regulations.

Solution.
Hellospace embraced the challenge with a design concept that blended traditional Italian charm with bohemian aesthetics. Inspired by Italy’s rich heritage, elements like wooden spoons, dried pasta, and hanging garlic bulbs were thoughtfully incorporated into the décor.
Custom high-back booth seating, transitional cathedral glass, and timber accents enhanced intimacy while maintaining a warm, open atmosphere.
The shopfront became a focal point, establishing Pastarita as a standout destination within Westfield Newmarket. Italian-inspired mouldings, a semi-open awning, and hand-painted graphics created a bold yet welcoming entrance. Distinctive installations added character, while vibrant counters and sleek LED signage heightened brand visibility.
Sustainable design was a priority, with HelloSpace repurposing existing materials and refinishing walls, all while meeting high design standards.

Pastarita’s new space is warm, and inviting, perfectly capturing the Italian culinary experience while seamlessly blending into the sophisticated Westfield Newmarket environment. This stylish family-friendly restaurant exceeded the client’s expectations and delights patrons and the Westfield team.
